FEDERATION OF TEACHERS ENDORSE JOHN LYNCH FOR GOVERNOR
Democratic Candidate for
NH Governor John Lynch fields questions from the
New Hampshire Federation of Teachers Board
of Directors on July 29 th in Bow.
Bow, NH, August 5, 2003 The
New Hampshire Federation of Teachers, AFT, AFL-CIO has endorsed
John Lynch for Governor. The NHFT Board of Directors met with
Mr. Lynch on July 29 th at its Bow office where they heard
his vision for New Hampshire and were provided an opportunity
to exchange ideas with the candidate.
NHFT President Laura Hainey
in issuing the endorsement states that, "Mr. Lynch was able
to provide our elected leadership answers to questions regarding
issues that concern our members every day in the work place
and he received the "enthusiastic endorsement from our Board.
Mr. Lynch focused on the importance of maintaining a strong
public education system in NH and a clear vision as to how
a strong public school system supports every other aspect
of our society. We were impressed with his vision, candor
and enthusiasm and unanimously endorsed him. There is no question
that it is a time for a change in the corner office and we
intend to encourage our members to vote for change by supporting
John Lynch as our next Governor."
The New Hampshire Federation
of Teachers is the State Affiliate of the American Federation
of teacher. The AFT has over a million members with over 3,100
members in New Hampshire , which include teachers, school
support staff, police, higher education faculty and city and
town employees. The NHFT is the third largest member of the
New Hampshire AFL-CIO that boasts membership of over 40,000
working men and women.
