MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the AFT-NH Website. AFT-NH is the State Affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers. The AFT has over a million members with over 3,300 members in New Hampshire which include teachers, school support staff, police, higher education faculty and town employees. AFT-NH is the second largest member of the New Hampshire AFL-CIO that boosts membership of over 55,000 working men and women.

AFT-NH along with the AFL-CIO are your voices in Concord. AFT-NH has a full-time presence and monitors legislative activity at the State House which impacts you.

AFT and AFT-NH believe strongly that the best form of union organization is local control and as a member of your local Union you make the decisions. The local members set union policy, determine contract priorities, vote on any job actions and choose local union officers and staff.

Please speak with your fellow Union members and become involved in the affairs of your local. If you have any questions regarding your employment be sure to seek out a Union officer or fellow union member.

After you review the benefits that are offered to members, I am sure that you will agree that membership in the Union is one of the best decisions you have ever made.
